Get to the top of your game by conditioning your mind for success

Part 2 of a 4-Part Series: Get to the top of your game by conditioning your mind for success

How many sports super stars do you see dragging around and acting as if they’re just about to give up? IF you see any, you can bet they won’t be labeled a “superstar” for much longer. In truth, the one element that got them to the superstar status is their ability to bring themselves to peak conditioning status and not only reach, but CRUSH their goals.

Here’s a little secret…they’re not much different from you, really! They sleep, eat, cry sometimes, overdo and fall short. But what sets them apart is the way they condition their body and their mind. Their bodies and minds are conditioned for success, now you can follow their example and apply that same conditioning to your mind and have a successful weight loss journey.

Concentrate on Daily Activities

Conditioning is a result of repeating an exercise over and over again. How can you expect to get good at something if you don’t practice? To be successful at losing weight, there are certain things you must do every day.

  1. Prep and pack your own food.
  2. Eat at regular intervals throughout the day.
  3. Exercise or “workout” at least 30 minutes 4-5 times per week, to start.
  4. Create, stick to and mark off (on your schedule or calendar) your workout times

Keeping these 4 points on the top of your mind everyday will make it easier to follow through.

Affirm You Success

Even if no one else thinks you will be successful at losing the weight, you have to believe that you will be. You are your biggest fan, so act like it. Get into the habit of starting your day with a great affirmation. Affirmations change your mindset to positive and make you feel secure in your decision to move forward and keep going.

Start using this affirmation in the morning. Write it on post-it notes and stick it everywhere you look in your home, office and car. “Every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow.  I release resistance and embrace change.  I am changing.”

Peak Conditioning Requires Work

Want to know the truth? You can’t be successful without hard work. Remember the superstars I mentioned earlier? Personally, I hate the watered down versions of exercise and eating and the whole weight loss experience that the media portrays. “Just 10 minutes a day,” “Lose weight without exercise” and “Don’t sweat it!” Geez! The biggest misconception is that you can accomplish greatness fast, easy and without hard work, not true! It’s going to take hard work, dedication and determination. The pleasure comes when you accomplish your goals and realize what you’ve done.

Forget the pain, its temporary!  Besides, if you don’t work hard and get your mind in peak condition for success, you’ll suffer a lot more pain in the way of depression, physical illness, listlessness and the feeling of failure, than you ever will from just doing it.
