Use the Internet to Help You Lose Weight
Today, right now is the best time to start your weight loss journey. Why? Because you are a student of the Internet. Today, the Internet is filled with programs and products both free and paid that will help you lose the weight and teach you how to keep it off. Read on to learn about some of the best tools on the Internet to put in your weight loss arsenal.
1. Tweetwhatyoueat.com: This site makes the best use of Twitter that I have seen to date, for weight loss. It’s really an online food diary that comes with an audience of supporters, onlookers and fans. You simply use your tweets to broadcast what you eat for each meal and/or the day. Researchers say that keeping a diary of what you eat and when you eat it helps you to stay on track. So, while you’re keeping yourself on track, you’re inspiring someone else to get on board. How kewl is that?
2. YouTube.com: We all know that YouTube is voyeur heaven. But one young lady has used this tool to help her shed 93 pounds. I saw her story on WE Channel’s Secret Lives of Women. She initially started broadcasting her bi-weekly videos as a way of holding herself accountable to starting and sticking with her weight loss program. Not knowing if anyone would tune in, she felt that if just one person would watch, she would be content. Well, she got one person, plus a few thousand more. She now gets 1000’s of hits every time she posts a new video. She started one year ago and using the video “confessionals”/weigh-ins, accountability from her fans, proper diet and exercise, she’s trimmed an amazing 93 pounds off her frame. She says that she will continue to post the videos every ten days because the videos and her fans’ reactions have been a major key to her success. Check her out at Fatty2Slim
3. Calorie Accountability: Losing weight is a simple formula that involves calories in verses calories out. Eat more than you burn and you gain, burn more than you eat and you lose. Simple, right? Well, if you know how many calories you’re eating and how many you’re burning, yes. But how can you manage what you don’t measure? Simple answer, do to the Internet and log onto a calorie counting website. Caloriesperhour.com is one of the best sources for calorie counting. They recently merged with livestrong.com, which is part of Lance Armstrong’s online foundation. They have this great tool called The Daily Plate which provides you with a graphical representation of what your diet looks like in terms of your protein, carb and fat intake. Each day you input what you eat, The Daily Plate gives you a colorful breakdown that’s designed to look like your plate. The plate is divided into the macronutrient sections for protein, carbs and fats. You can see exactly where you stand, nutritionally, with each meal. It’s really amazing and simple to operate.
4. Pound by Pound online Community: What if you had a place to go that focused on weight loss and weight management? That’s what the Pound by Pound online Community. One of the members, Registered Dietician Jayson Hunter created Fight Fat TV so that you can learn the best ways to fight excess fat in your diet. Like to walk? Great addition to the original book on the Master Cleanse. This book helped a lot – it had other people sharing what they went through, which answered a lot of my questions. The whole process makes sense and the instructions were a lot simpler to read and understand!
